Early Education Unit (Toddlers and Preschool)

Early years education is an exciting period of time for children. They are continuing to develop their independence and they are encouraged to be inquisitive. With this in mind, the layout of our Early Education Unit is as such that the children can access the toys and equipment from low level storage, allowing them to explore and extend upon their skills and experiences. We provide funded sessions for 2, 3 and 4 year old sessions for eligible children.

Outdoor Play

We have a large, secure Outdoor Play area that the children have access to on a daily basis. Research shows that children in the Early Years Foundation Stage make excellent progress when learning through play, particularly in their Personal, Social and Emotional and Physical development as well as their communication skills.

We resource both our indoor and outdoor areas on the principles that allow children the freedom to develop their imaginative play. Sometimes, we plan for our outdoor activities to allow children to gain particular experiences during their learning journey.

For many children, playing outdoors at nursery or preschool may be the only opportunity that they have to play safely whilst being encouraged to take appropriate risk.
