P1020669Little Acorns Day Nursery

We have a dedicated Key Person approach within our nursery were a member of staff takes responsibility for your child whilst they are at nursery. The Key Person will become familiar with your child’s background, routine and development and build a strong relationship with the children, parents and carers.

 Qualified, Experienced Childcare Practitioners

All of our Childcare Practitioners are qualified to a minimum Level 3 standard. We operate above the OFSTED requirements for First Aid qualified staff and we are working towards a commitment of every staff member being First Aid Qualified within their initial induction training. Again, in excess of OFSTED requirements, the majority of our staff have undertaken training in Safeguarding Children procedures. Our nursery owner is suitably certificated to provide basic Safeguarding training to new staff members and staff, ensure that everybody has a basic understanding of procedures and what to do should they be worried about a child.

_DM89231Learning Journeys

All children who attend Little Acorns have their own, individual Learning Journey. By working with parents, carers and other relevant professionals we can monitor your child’s development and interests. This paints a picture of their unique progress. We then plan activities and daily experiences that are appropriate to the needs of each individual child, valuing their needs and their stage of development.

Working with parents

We work closely with parents from their initial visit to nursery right up until the day their children leave, often beyond this time forging links within the community.

We have regular events for parents and carers to attend such as Open Days, Christmas Fayres, Summer Fun Days, Parents Evenings and general progress meetings. At any time, parents and carers are encouraged to discuss any concerns or queries with their Key Person or a member of the Management Team. For a ‘Who’s Who’ reminder, please check the photograph board in the reception area or simply ask a member of staff.

If you have concerns with regards to any child other than your own please hold regard to our Safeguarding Children Policy and our Confidentiality Policy and ensure that the person you are discussing your concerns with is the appropriate.
